In building the guild of Big Crits I knew it had to be a Horde guild. Why it had to be so is a story for another time. But for now, let’s talk about changing faction, race, and gender. I mean, if you’re going to change might as well be big changes right?
It’s worth disclosing that I’m not really an RP-er. I don’t have a back story for Stoney or engage in role play, but there’s always this sense of who that character is for you. I’ll give you an example. On my druid it just feels wrong to PvP; on Stoney it feels like something I could do; but on my warlock… I always feel the need to PvP. Also, I get stuck on non-combat pets. For nearly all of the second half of BC I used my Hippogryph Hatchling on Stoney. And ever since Brewfest 2008 I’ve only used a Wolpertinger on my druid, Finn.
Fair to say that while I don’t RP I do have a sense of what fits for these characters of mine. Druid = good. Shaman = neutral. Warlock = evil. In theory I had no qualms about going Horde on Stoney and didn’t care if Stoney was male or female, or Orc, Tauren or Troll. Then I made the switch and came to find it was a bit traumatic.

Stoneybaby Here’s the deal. I’m breaking it here first because … because I love you guys, why else? You’ve followed me from Windfury Crits to Big Hit Box and to WoW.com. Blogging about Stoney and the life and times of Enhancement Shamans has always been and will always be my first love. And I appreciate your understanding as I’ve been quite silent the last few weeks. When you see this you’ll understand that I’ve been temporarily shirking my BHB duties because I’ve been doing quite a bit of writing, filming, and website building.
OK enough long winded intro…
My new project is a web-based reality series about end-game WoW raiders. It’s called Big Crits. And it’s about real people conquering a virtual world.

Tonight I started back in arenas with Stoney. Our venerable 5v5 team, Mele Kalikimaka, is back at it again. Thankfully I'm playing with four of the most experienced PvPers in our guild; I'll definitely be learning from them as the season progresses.
In honor of getting back to PvP I'm presenting you with my #1 absolutely favorite PvP macro: Hex Focus.

We've got a great question for tonight's post. It's something that comes up both here and on my WoW.com posts. It's one of those things that drives the competitive among us crazy. It is: the AoE meter. How do we max it? What do we do about? How dare Mages and Hunters top us? Or do we even care about it?
The answer is as kosher as Christmas.

Monday Night Macro is back and with a vengeance. A mean nasty vengeance. But then it wouldn't exactly be a vengeance if it was nice and sweet, would it? Didn't think so.
Tonight's macro is a simple affair but I'm willing to bet most Enhancers don't know about it or use it.
What is it?

Welcome to another edition of Ask Stoneybaby. I'll be your host, Stoneybaby.
I received a lot of good questions in the last few weeks, of those I'm pulling a good one from a few weeks back for tonight's post. Reader Scott emailed me about totem management. It's a great question and even had a very catchy subject line (that I repeated below). I shot him a quick response via email but I'm going into much greater depth here, including the single greatest thing I did to improve my totem management.
